Got in truck after a short drive and started down the road and the truck would not shift out of first gear. I did a restart on the road and nothing changed. Oct 8, 2008 · It just stays in 4th gear. When stuck in 4th the tranny temp will reach upwards of 240 degrees. The only way to correct it is to pull over and turn truck off for 5-10 minutes and then restart it. Seems to be a computer control issue or something to that effect because all the parts inside the transmission are new. My Ram 1500 had a Bad Shift Solenoid.
